Our Wild Founder, Maya

Hi there! I am a self-taught artist and graphic designer, a mom to an almost 3 year old boy, and a person that always had way too many hobbies.

Starting Wild Marks was literally my lifelong dream come true. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to explore my creativity every chance I got and to also have more people join me. I never understood why, as we get older, we are expected to leave our creative play behind!

All my life I've been hearing people say "I wish I was creative" or "I am just not creative" and similar things. And it got me thinking: When we were kids, we were ALL creative, exploring materials, shapes, colours and processes. In fact, we have been made to believe that creativity comes only with some special talent, and that it has to result in some picture-perfect and realistic piece of art. But this is not true!

It's all about the process of being creative and the benefits of doing so.

Wild Marks was created to explore our creativity at any age, to help us slow down, meet amazing people and experience again the benefits of being creative.
